Those are all open back headphones so if you're in a loud environment or sharing the room with someone then you may want to consider closed back in which case most people would probably say ATH-M40x at your price point. A cheaper option would senneheiser 560s, or SHP9500 if they're still around. In this case for 150, I'd probs go with FidelioX2HR based on relatively comparable sound signatures between gaming headsets and these as they're both "fun" and bassy but these will still blow any gaming headset away. The other thing you can do is buy a pair of real headphones, and stick an AntLion modmic to the side of it if you don't want the whole boom arm ensemble. Anothe option here would be Beyerdynamic MMX150 but I'd probably take the senns. If you are dead set on getting an actual gaming headset,įor $150, get the Sennheiser PC37x or PC38x. I'm going to take your budget at 150 based on the Astros you posted. Probs gonna get buried here but no one that I have seen has made any actual recommendations outside of don't get an actual gaming headset. That's cool if you're into that, but most gamers don't want that shit or don't even have the setup for it. Most people don't have a setup for producing YouTube content, I don't want some dumb seperate mic boom attached to my desk and hanging down. And the amount of recommendations for separate mics is weird. If I'm in the market for a ~$100 headset for gaming, only give opinions on the best quality in your opinion for the price range. People on this sub need to be better at giving like comparisons. I have Corsair void pros, which are a gaming headset, and I'm sure they are "crap" according to the people that frequent this sub, but they work perfectly for me for gaming and working from home and cost me $90 on sale like 3 years ago. Yeah I mean of course there is a massive difference in quality, but not everybody cares, can really perceive the difference for that particular application, or wants to spend that kind of money.
